are Pick-Up-Trucks.

On their back they have 2 benches and a roof. There are at least 15 routes in and around Khon Kaen. They cost 10Bt per ride and are available 05:00 - 20:00.
Songtaew will stop at any point of their route, to pick up or let off passengers.

Tuk Tuk

three-wheeled vehicles with 2-stroke engines, are the most convenient way to get around in Khon Kaen because there is no Taxi Service available. But be sure to negotiate the price in advance, because many drivers overcharge non-locals (Foreigners and Thais).
Especially newly arrived tourists with baggage are the target of overcharging.
A normal trip in Khon Kaen is between 50-80Bt, 10Bt more at nighttimes and during rain. A ride to KKUniversity or to the Airpot should cost not more than 150Bt.
Many drivers can be reached by mobile phone, so if you find a reliable driver, ask him for it.
As none of the drivers speaks English, ask the service staff at the place you want to be picked up. They will be glad to help you.

Samlor and Motorcycle Taxis

Tricycles are still common in Khon Kaen. They are slightly cheaper than tuk-tuks, but the drivers also tend to overcharge non-locals.
